My Spirit is longing
My soul seems downcast
My eyes searching for distractions
And my body is tired.
I sense I need Rest
But I don’t seem to get them in my sleep
And when I wake up
There seems to be always something to do.
Mentally fatigued
My routines seems to have given up on me
Physically distressed
Nowhere is good enough for me to rest.
While I was struggling to figure this out
And had seemingly come to the end of myself
You called me to rest in your presence
I sought for rest everywhere else
But I only found it in Your Word.
“Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. [Ps. 55:22.]”
