Colossians 1:21-23

In my curiosity I asked God

What do you see when you look at me?

If seeing is believing,

Tell me what you see.

I see my likeness in You

That’s my very image right there

The Apple of my eyes

Holy, blameless and spotless.

Are you trying to tease me?

I asked in doubt.

My thoughts can be careless & impure

And I cannot even see that for myself.

Am I blind?

Why would you call me Holy?

Who else is holy but You?

I don’t even do the right things

How can I be spotless?

If you let me

I can go on without stopping about my flaws,

And how I’ve abused your mercy that’s ever sure.

My imaginations are vain

And I blame myself for every action & inaction

How can You call me blameless?

Ohh simple man

You have been blinded by self.

Open your eyes and see

It is not about you.

I have rescued you

And reconciled you to myself.

Give yourself to wisdom

And do not be deceived.

There’s nothing you can do to earn my love.

You’re only righteous because I made it so.

When I say you’ve been set free

You are free indeed.

Would you listen to me and believe

Stand firm on my word

It is spirit and is Life

I am not a man that I would lie.

Lord open my eyes to see

Help my heart to believe

Let me not second guess Your truth

Help me hold unto what I have received.

Thank You for Your son Jesus Christ

Thank You because I have believed

Thank You for I am Your righteousness in Christ

I am a holy, pleasing and acceptable offering.
