Sometimes I wonder.
I know I’m pretty smart & intelligent
Very adaptable to my environment
I own warehouses of common sense
And every once in a while I whip out wisdom
From my hat like a magician
I’m pretty calm and peaceful
I have my fair share of troubles
But I’m typically the one calming tensions.
I’m very self aware & reflective
I’ve had esteem issues and seen myself grow!
I’m very growth oriented.
I look good and clean as default
Never to be caught unfresh
I never look like what I’m going through.
I’m very well spoken & good listener
With a strategic and analytical mind
I’m good company!
I’m Rich, with people & resources
Ideas & Potentials
Knowledge & Exposure
Network & Understanding
With Information & Capacity.
Yet none of these is my greatest asset.
Nothing I can acquire is.
Somehow I still manage to fail myself
Even with all of these
I make wrong decisions consistently
And at my peak
I’m still somewhere below my expectations.
There’s something I couldn’t explain
The strength that kept me standing everytime I fall
The spirit that keeps me believing despite my flaws
The hope that keeps me going when I’m floored
I couldn’t see it, but I knew it was always there somewhere.
It’s not my grit.
When I’m ready to give up, it won’t let me
When my pride in self & my ego needs massaging
It won’t pet me.
My greatest asset is the Presence of the Lord.
When I’m a minute close to disaster
I run into His presence and I am safe
When I’m in deep trouble and I call on Him
He always answers me
When I am lost & I don’t know what to do
I can stay safe in His presence.
Pressure presses me away from your presence
To-do’s until I’m too busy for you
I’ve treated my Greatest Asset with contempt
Constantly exchanging treasure for vanity.
My peace comes from Your Presence
Wisdom and Clarity is found at Your feet.
I’ll Cherish your presence above Self
I’ll Honor your presence above Great Riches
When I feel it and when I don’t
I’ll forever in your presence stay
When I understand and when I’m confused
It’s in your presence I’ll daily lay!
My Greatest Asset is the Presence of Jesus
Spending time with You is my hearts desire
To Worship & To know you more
To Love you & To Love You More
In plenty & in lack
In certainty & in confusion
In health and in weakness
In answered prayers & in silence
In the good and in the bad times
For better and for worse
Until I’m spending eternity with my beloved!
